Project 0 - Wandering Hour Watch

Outstanding design, beautifully executed!

I backed the Orphic Project 0 because it was genuinely different, and it has exceeded my expectations.

The James Webb Space Telescope inspiration is immediately recognisable without ever feeling gimmicky. The wandering-hour display is beautifully integrated into the hexagonal architecture, and the black mother-of-pearl dial gives the watch incredible depth and character. It changes constantly with the light and makes the whole thing feel much more alive than a conventional dial.

The movement choice was also excellent. Using the Miyota 9039 as the base gives the watch a reliable, high-beat automatic foundation, while the wandering-hour complication turns it into something genuinely unusual.

What really impressed me, though, are the details. Whilst the lume could have been stronger, particularly around the hexagonal structure and minute console, the display back contains one of the best little Easter eggs I have seen on a watch. The rotor carries the same JWST-inspired geometry, but when it starts spinning the blue lume turns into glowing circular arcs. It looks almost like an orbiting energy field. Completely unnecessary, utterly brilliant.

The case finishing is excellent, the watch has real wrist presence without becoming absurdly large, it's a great conversation starter, and the overall build feels far more expensive than the Kickstarter price suggested.

Most microbrands play it safe. Another diver, another vintage-inspired chronograph, another familiar case with a new logo on the dial. Orphic did the opposite. Project 0 feels like somebody actually had an idea and then followed it through properly.

That is exactly the sort of watch I want to support on Kickstarter.

Distinctive, clever, beautifully made and enormous fun to wear. Thank you for making it.

Beautiful watch!

I've been looking for a wandering hour piece that isn't huge for a good while now. I'm very happy with my Project 0, it looks amazing and wears well on a 6.5" wrist. The design queues from the Webb telescope are a great touch and the nebula dial is the icing on the cake. I don't think there are many options around at this price point for this overall level of design and finish.

The Project 0 has been one of those watches that surprised me by just how much fun it is to own. Initially, after decades of reading conventional hands, my reaction was almost, “This is fascinating, but I can’t read it with my old eyes!” Then something wonderful happened — I learned its language. Before long, a quick glance was enough to understand the time, and that process became part of the enjoyment.

It’s extremely comfortable, visually distinctive, and the lume is frankly ridiculous — transforming the watch in low light and perfectly complementing its futuristic character.

What I particularly appreciate is that Project 0 offers something genuinely different. It isn’t trying to impress through a famous name or an exotic movement; the value is in the concept, design and experience it creates on the wrist.

In a collection containing watches at many different price points, Project 0 has earned its place very simply: it makes me smile, I keep looking at it, and there’s nothing else quite like it.

Maybe the only suggestion I could think of would be to have the choice between leather, sillicone, or metallic bracelet but beside that all good :)

Amazing watch!

Better than what was shown in the photos. The finishing and the Nebula dial shimmers in the light to give you that starry effect. Bravo!

Absolutely stunning watch. Leo absolutely blew it out of the ballpark. The aventurine dial is unbelievable in sunlight. Worth every penny.
